Link to article: http://www.distritovillaverde.com/el-arte-de-descubrirnos/ Durante 10 días de Marzo, 22 estudiantes del Instituto Celestino Mutis viajaron a Atenas en Grecia como parte del proyecto “The Art Of Discovering Ourselves” (El Arte De descubrirnos). Bajo el umbral del mismo proyecto, organizado dentro del marco del Programa Comenius, de la Union Europea, nos visitaron 20 estudiantes de Grecia el año pasado. El intercambio cultural, que une a estudiantes de 2º de la ESO del IES Celestino Mutis con el centro Gymnasium Vyron en Atenas, tiene como objetivo principal la investigación de las distintas influencias en el arte de cada país. El año pasado nos centramos en el arte español y estudiantes de los dos centros colaboraron en la elaboración de una obra de arte que refleja sus principales elementos e influencias. Este año ambos centros están investigando el arte griego y se elaboró durante la visita una exposición fotográfica mostrando sus características centrales a lo largo del tiempo. El desarrollo del proyecto, que dura dos años y acaba este verano, ha sido un gran proceso de descubrimiento. Para el grupo de Atenas fue curioso ver como la cultura griega influyó en el arte aquí. Los estudiantes de nuestro centro en Villaverde han podido conocer mucho mejor las muchas influencias de distintas culturas que han influído en su propio arte – propio en el sentido más amplio ya que participan muchos estudiantes inmigrantes. De hecho, quizá uno de los aspectos más interesantes del proyecto haya sido poder apreciar las personas inmigrantes como parte de un proceso histórico de llegada y incorporación de distintas culturas en la identidad española, viendo que el arte español es fruto de muchas distintas culturas a lo largo de la historia que ahora forman parte del patrimonio nacional. En sentido más general el proyecto ha mostrado el efecto enriquecedor del intercambio de personas y sus tradiciones y culturas. En el arte español destacan las influencias de la cultura Visigoda, Griega, Romana, Judía, Islámica, Francesa, Italiana y en tiempos más recientes de la influencia Británica o Estadounidense. Posiblemente el ejemplo más emblemático de la fusión de culturas aquí es la combinación de las influencias islámicas, judías y cristianas que supone el arte Mudéjar. Pero también en Grecia se han visto unas cuantas influencias distintas, aunque en un sentido esto sorprende ya que Grecia se ve frecuentemente como el inicio de la civilización y cultura. Además, en el caso del Islam y la cultura romana se puede ver claramente las mismas influencias que en el arte español. Se aprecia también la influencia en el arte de otros factores como la mitología y la tecnología que permitió la construcción de monumentos impresionantes como es el Partenón, por ejemplo. Además del aspecto estrictamente artístico del proyecto, la colaboración supone una investigación previa a cada visita por parte de los dos grupos de estudiantes, tanto a través de la implantación del proyecto en el las clases (sobre todo de Dibujo, Ciencias Sociales e Inglés) como en horas extras después de clase. También ha implicado que estudiantes de los dos centros se relacionen. No solamente durante las actividades conjuntas durante las visitas pero también cada grupo alojándose en casas de estudiantes del otro centro. Eso ha permitido un conocimiento profundo de la cultura real de la otra ciudad – que con el turismo normal es difícil conseguir – y también ha obligado la comunicación en inglés. Como consecuencia, la mejora de sus competencias en inglés ha sido palpable. Sin lugar a duda, la experiencia ha sido muy enriquecedora tanto para el alumnado como el profesorado participante.
